Review of the Best Pregnancy Book
Being pregnant can be so confusing! It often seems like every person you meet in the street has some “helpful advice” for you. But what do the real experts on pregnancy have to say? Which stories are true and which are just old wives tales? It may seem old-fashioned, but a book is still the very best place to find out.
Today, we take a look at the new edition of a book which has been called, “America’s Pregnancy Bible”. We also welcome our fabulous guest reviewer, Marianne Houston. Enjoy!
Introducing America’s most popular pregnancy book
“What to Expect when You’re Expecting” by Heidi Murkoff and Sharon Mazel has been rated the best pregnancy book for American parents for the whole 25 years it has been in print. Guest Review by Marianne Houston
I think this is the best pregnancy book for people who need to know the facts without having to read with a dictionary beside them for all the scientific jargon. The friendly style, week-by-week breakdowns of what to expect and practical advice on how to weather your pregnancy have helped millions of Americans through this difficult (yet wonderful!) time in their lives.
You don’t have to take my word for it though. I’m not the only one who recommends this as the best book for first pregnancy. It has been in print for more than 25 years (this is the fourth edition and it is completely updated for modern pregnancies) and remains a New York Times Best Seller. Thousands of parents have reviewed it and say it was invaluable to them through each stage of their pregnancies.
This book helped me get through my pregnancy armed with knowledge and confidence. I’d recommend it to all first-time mothers who want to know what on earth is going on! It gets a very enthusiastic five stars from me!
